The core areas include: 1.) From Molecules to Organisms: Understanding how cells contribute to the function of living organisms; 2.) Ecosystems: Understanding how systems operate to meet the needs of living organisms in an ecosystem; 3.) Heredity: Understanding how living organisms pass traits on from one generation to the next and 4.) Biological Evolution: Understanding how living organisms change over time in response to the environment. In this year-long course, students will develop a mastery of the disciplinary core areas of life science through scientific and engineering practice and interdisciplinary concepts in the physical and earth sciences.
